Nipah virus Kerala latest News Today On Friday, Health Minister Veena George alerted people to be careful after Norovirus, an animal-borne disease transmitted by dirty water and food, was confirmed in Kerala’s Wayanad.

The Minister of Health has ordered that preventive actions be stepped up and that public knowledge about the condition is raised. She’s also raised a district-wide directive advising people to be vigilant.

The Kerala Department of Health examined the condition in Wayanad yesterday in a meeting led by George. “There is no reason for people to be frightened at this time, but they must be extremely careful. One of the current projects is super residual chlorine. Sources of water pollution must be of high hygienic grade “she explained.

“The condition can be cured fast with adequate prevention and therapy. As a result, everyone should be informed of the condition and how to avoid it “she continued.

Noroviruses are a type of virus that causes gastrointestinal side effects. The virus causes stomach and gut lining irritation, as well as significant diarrhea and vomiting. Norovirus has no such effect on healthy individuals, but it can harm young children, the elderly, and people with chronic illnesses. Physical contact with the infected persons can also transmit this animal-borne disease.

The virus is transferred through a contaminated person’s feces and vomit. As a consequence of the virus’s quick spread, so extra vigilance is essential. The virus, on the other hand, can spread for 1 to 2 days after the disease has begun.  Diarrhea, stomach discomfort, vomiting, anxiety, fever, headaches, and body pains are some of the most frequent Norovirus symptoms. Dehydration and other consequences might result from severe vomiting and diarrhea.

According to the rules, affected patients should stay at home and take ORS medication and heated water as advised by their doctor. As a preventative strategy, one should pay close attention to their immediate surroundings and basic hygiene.
