Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar

International negotiator, Since the Taliban appear to be ready to announce that Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund has assumed the organization’s leadership for the past three years, India looks forward to his recent appointment as the chief of the United States. The experience of the international representative and the head of outreach and the relationship with other significant forces will affect his attitude towards policies that influence India. As per the recent reports, Sher Mohammed Stanekzai and Sirajuddin Haqqani may also reportedly gain power in the latest government, with Baradar appearing to be at the helm. He is a Durani Pashtun from the Popalzai family and shares his tribal allegiance with ex-Afghan President Hamid Karzai. Baradar provided his services as the Taliban’s Deputy Defense Minister; during the 1996-2001 rule as he was closer to Mullah Omar.

Live Crisis of Afghanistan

In 2001 after the invasion of the US, Baradar escaped to Pakistan, where he organized a military confrontation to the US occupation in Afghanistan and became the head of Rahbari Shura, responsible for administrative decision-making. Pakistan detained him and imprisoned him for eight years in 2010 because Islamabad alleged that he had dealt with Karzai and the United States. As per the recent reports, Baradar and other Taliban leaders; such as Mullah Abdul Rauf Ariza and Mullah Ahmed Jan Ahmad, are from relatively moderate powers inside the Taliban.

Since the United States persuaded Pakistan to let go and begin peace agreement negotiations in 2018; negotiations were forefronted by Baradar, although this time he has been blessed by Pakistan. India also hopes that he has not over and done how his host opposed him and will consider balance.

As the leader of the Taliban government in 2021 it is not entirely clear; whether Baradar will preside over the “independent” decision-making or have to carry on to look down at Islamabad. The Taliban are continually diverting the minds with tricks on all sides in their remarks recently; putting besides a moderate attitude with observance of Sharia law. When they came to India, they vowed to continue defending any “Muslim” cause; together with Kashmir, who said that this is not true. It means supporting violence.
