CM News of Uttarakhand

CM News of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat, a senior Congress leader, and former Uttarakhand chief minister claimed on Saturday that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had “surrendered” to his Uttar Pradesh equivalents over an agreement on asset and liability split between the two states.

In the year 2000, Uttarakhand was separated from Uttar Pradesh.

Rawat told journalists in Dehradun that Congress will fight the agreement in the state Assembly and will petition Governor Lt Gen (retd) Gurmit Singh to oppose it. The party will also look into legal options to oppose the agreement, according to the former chief minister.

“We allege that during the meeting between two Chief Ministers on Thursday, not only the current rights of Uttarakhand were sold out to Uttar Pradesh, but also future water rights were handed over.” A state CM is a state CM who advocates for their state’s rights. The CM of Uttarakhand appears to have entirely surrendered to the national stature of the CM of Uttar Pradesh. “It makes me sad that Uttarakhand’s chief minister appeared so insignificant in comparison to the UP chief minister when it came to advocating for Uttarakhand’s welfare,” he said.

Dhami’s meeting with UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the division of the two states’ liabilities and assets was mentioned by Rawat. Dhami thanked Adityanath for his cooperation after the meeting and said Uttarakhand was like UP’s younger brother. “Yogi Ji openly accepted our words. Respect for all and development for all is our motto. He had stated that “the relationship between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand will strengthen now.”

The agreement signed on Thursday could lead to a resolution of issues such as the division of land and buildings under the control of the Uttar Pradesh irrigation department, as well as pending dues to the Uttarakhand Forest Department. Tourism and water sports will also be permitted in Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar district and the Upper Ganga canal in Roorkee.

Rawat is questioning the agreement only because he failed to implement it during his time as CM, according to BJP spokesperson Shadab Shams.
