BJP Will Take Advantage
BJP, The Karnataka Congress was left red-faced steadily for the past month after a live microphone caught two of its leaders chatting about state unit chief DK Shivakumar’s alleged corruption.
Days later, the microphones picked up Mr. Shivakumar (and ex-Chief Minister Siddaramaiah) at a Bengaluru event commemorating former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s death anniversary on October 31.
Mr. Siddaramaiah can be heard asking about the lack of a portrait of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the country’s First Deputy Prime Minister, who was born on the same day Indira Gandhi was assassinated, albeit over a century earlier, in a video of the exchange that has surfaced online.
Shivakumar then tells his staff members to hang a portrait of Sardar Patel as well.

“Today is his (Sardar Patel’s) birth anniversary,” Mr. Siddaramaiah says in Kannada as he leans over to inquire about the Karnataka Congress chief’s portrait.
“Yes, Sir… it is also his birthday today… but we never keep the photo,” Mr. Shivakumar responds.
Although “However, what happens with the BJP is that they will exploit it,” Mr. Siddaramaiah says in English.

The BJP has criticized the video, with National General Secretary CT Ravi tweeting, “It is a shame that slaves are so afraid of an Italian” – a snide reference to opposition leader Sonia Gandhi.
